Upgrading via UNMS
The Ubiquiti Network Management System (UNMS) allows for easy remote device management and mass firmware upgrades for adopted devices. UNMS will automatically and periodically download and store the latest firmware releases, which can then be transferred to the EdgeSwitch XP.
1. Navigate to the connection Firmware Manager to verify the available firmware releases.
2. Navigate to the Devices to upgrade the relevant switches.
Actions > Change firmware version
3. Select the EdgeSwitch XP device(s) and schedule the firmware upgrade.
5. The EdgeSwitch XP will automatically reboot once the firmware upgrade is complete.
Upgrading via the Web UI on the v2.0.0+ Firmware
1. Download the EdgeSwitch XP firmware from the EdgeMAX Downloads page.
2. Navigate to the Settings to upgrade the device firmware.
Settings > System actions > Upgrade firmware
3. Select Upgrade and browse your filesystem for the EdgeSwitch XP firmware release you wish to upload.
4. Wait for the firmware upgrade to complete.
5. Reboot the device when prompted using the Reboot button.
Upgrading via the Web UI on Older Firmware Releases
1. Download the EdgeSwitch XP firmware from the EdgeMAX Downloads page.
2. Navigate to the Device tab to upgrade the firmware.
Device > Firmware Update > Upload Firmware
3. Select Upload Firmware and browse your filesystem for the EdgeSwitch XP firmware release you wish to upload.
4. Select Upload and wait for the firmware upload process to complete.
5. Select Update to upgrade the firmware of the device.
6. A separate browser window will open that displays the firmware upgrade process.
7. The EdgeSwitch XP will automatically reboot once the firmware upgrade is complete.
